Audio Files Suddenly Cannot be Played in Vista

June 17, 2009 – 1:18 pm

It’s been around 2 months since i changed my desktop’s OS to Vista 32 bit. Actually this isn’t my first experience with vista since I also have a laptop preintalled with vista which I bought a year ago. Never had a problem with her. I don’t know why my desktop’s vista causes too much trouble emoticon.

Yesterday, i ran into the ‘Access denied’ problem when vista is trying to install drivers for my plug and play device. I think it was something about my privilege and my account although administrator but just not enough for Vista. Haven’t solved this one.

And then today something came up as well, my main topic of the post. Audio files won’t play! They were fine yesterday and happily sang..but then today i can’t play any of them. I used iTunes and pressed play. The bar didn’t move, no sound came out. …. I moved to windows media player, and it gave an error "bla bla and make sure your proxy is correct". What :| ?

Well, confusing … Tried a system restore…didn’t work. Googled a bit, someone wrote about something referring enhancement. That i have to turn off the audio enhancement. No idea what that meant XD. So I just played around, right clicked on my sound settings……

"…audio enhancement is causing the trouble. Would you like to turn it off?" Voila, and the answer came on its own XD. Turned it off of course. Apparently it’s located in Speakers Properties, Enhancement. Restart my iTunes… :D happy singing again
